Chanderi Silk-Cotton Saree

Chanderi sarees are prized for their extraordinary lightness — a quality achieved by weaving fine silk warp with cotton weft on traditional frame looms in the town of Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh. This pale gold piece features the classic coin motif (ashrafi buti) scattered across a sheer, luminous ground.

Chanderi weaving is a GI-protected craft. This saree is sourced directly from a cooperative of weavers in the old town, where the tradition dates back to the 11th century.
